中国上海2010世博会举世瞩目,为了让世界各国的领导和友人来到中国馆能欣赏到更多中国优秀的艺术作品,增加中国馆贵宾厅的艺术氛围,同时也为广大艺术家搭建走向世界的良好交流平台。上海世博会事务协调局、上海市美术家协会、中国美术学院共同组织了中国馆贵宾厅艺术品征集布置工作。艺术作品征集过程更体现世博精神和中华民族传统文化元素以及“城市让生活更美好”的主题,采取网上向全国艺术界征集作品和专家推荐相结合的方式,让更多的艺术家了解世博、参与世博、奉献世博,让作品征集活动公正、公开,使遴选出的参与中国馆艺术品创作的艺术家更有代表性和广泛性。
为高质量、高规格按时完成中国馆贵宾厅艺术品创作布置任务,上海世博会事务协调局、上海市美术家协会、中国美术学院组织来自全国的擅长中国画、油画、水彩画等创作的30多位画家在中国馆现场召开中国馆贵宾厅艺术品创作布置动员会,明确创作任务,希望艺术家在创作时间紧的情况下,坚持创作出高质量的好作品。有的艺术家为完成好作品,几易其稿,全身心地投入创作。为了确保每件作品的创作质量,上海世博会事务协调局规划部、中国馆项目部、中国美术学院设计团队、上海市美术家协会组织专家前往浙江宁波、杭州,江苏苏州刺绣研究所、吴江静思园,广东佛山古龙窑遗址等地,拜访参与中国馆中国画、油画、刺绣、琉璃、陶艺等艺术品创作的部分单位和创作人员。
作品征集过程中,由上海市美术家协会、上海世博会事务协调局、中国美术学院三方成立了9人的专家组对网上征集和专家推荐的艺术家和艺术作品进行了多次评审,从作品的内容到形式进行反复讨论,对大幅作品审草图、提建议,每个细节都不放过,从中遴选出一楼接待厅艺术品:中国画15件、漆画屏风2件、浅浮雕2件、雕塑1件,14楼国宾厅艺术品:中国画16件、油画8件、书法2件、水彩画4件、陶艺10件、琉璃8件、刺绣3件、壁挂2幅、隔断2组。
对艺术家而言,能够有幸参与世博中国馆贵宾厅艺术品的创作是一种很高的荣誉,也是一种责任。参与中国馆艺术品创作的艺术家来自台湾、上海、广东、陕西、江西、北京、浙江、安徽、湖南、西藏、河北、江苏及总政等地区和部门,这些作者在全国美术界具有广泛性和代表性;作品体现出国家气派、民族文化、上海元素,为中国馆增添了艺术含量,多件巨幅艺术作品更是以强烈的视觉效果、富有震撼力的形式给人以艺术的享受。(文章来源:《世博艺苑---中国国家馆贵宾厅艺术作品集》)
China’s 2010 Shanghai World Expo attracts the world’s attention. In order to provide the leaders and friends from countries all over the world with more excellent Chinese art works and increase the artistic atmosphere in the VIP Hall of China Pavilion and provide a good communication platform for the artists on their way to the world, Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau, Shanghai Artists Association and China Academy of Arts jointly take charge of collecting and laying out the art works in the VIP Hall of China Pavilion. The art works collecting process reflects the expo spirit, the traditional Chinese cultural elements and Expo theme ‘Better City, Better Life’ by combining experts recommend and national wide solicitation online, allowing artists to learn more about World Expo, to participate in World Expo, to serve World Expo, making the solicitation fair and open and making sure the artists selected are more representative and popular.
In order to accomplish the art works’ creation and lay out tasks on time with high quality, Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau, Shanghai Artists Association and China Academy of Arts held a meeting with more than 30 artists from all over the country who have different specialties such as Chinese painting, oil painting and watercolor painting, etc. to ensure that they know their task clearly and bring out their best pieces under a relatively limited amount of time. Some artists change their works several times to achieve the most satisfied ones. In order to guarantee every piece of works with high quality, the Planning Department of Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau, the Project Department of China Pavilion, a design team from China Academy of Arts and Shanghai Artists Association jointly organized a team of experts heading to Ningbo, Hangzhou, Suzhou Embroidery Research Institute, Wujiang Meditation Garden and the dragon kilns site in Foshan, Guangdong Province to visit the artists and units who participate in the creation of Chinese painting, oil painting, embroidery, colored glaze and pottery exhibited in China Pavilion.
During the works collection, a team with nine experts who came from Shanghai Artists Association, Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau and China Academy of Arts appraised both the submitted works online and the recommended works several times from the subject of the works to the forms. After reviewing and making several suggestions, the team selected 15 Chinese paintings, 2 lacquer screens, 2 pieces of bas-relief and a sculpture for the Reception Hall on the first floor, and 16 Chinese paintings, 8 oil paintings, 2 pieces of calligraphy, 4 watercolor paintings, 10 pieces of pottery, 8 pieces of colored glaze, 3 pieces of embroidery, 2 wall hangings and 2 partitions for the State Guest Hall on the 14th floor.
To the artists, it is an honor as well as a responsibility to participate in the creation of the art works in China Pavilion of Shanghai World Expo. The participating artists come from areas and departments including Zhejiang, Taiwan, Shanghai, Guangdong, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Bejing, Anhui, Hunan, Tibet, Hebei, Jiangsu and the General Political Department. They are very popular and representative. Their works reflect the country’s generosity, the ethnic culture and Shanghai elements, increasing the art contents in China Pavilion, many of which give the viewers the joy that only art can bring by strong visual impact and stunning forms.
